Fadden Pond

Friday 4 March 2016

I’m pleased to again host a local Clean Up Australia Day event which will take place this Sunday at the Fadden Pond, Shadow Minister for Environment Nicole Lawder said today.

“Clean Up Australia Day is probably the best opportunity of the year to set aside some time to clean up our local areas. It’s particularly important in Canberra as a recent Clean Up Australia Day report showed that the ACT’s waterways are the 'dirtiest in the country',” Ms Lawder said.

“Cleaning up Fadden Pond will improve local amenity for residents, help reduce rubbish finding its way further into our waterways, thereby reducing the risk for wildlife in the area.

“I’m pleased that a number of local residents including members of the local tennis club will be joining the clean up.

“Fadden Pond is a valuable space in my local area and I want to encourage Canberrans to join an event in their local area,” Ms Lawder concluded.
