Make your own cubby house or fort! Ok, so building a cubby house might be a bit of a stretch for most of us, although I remember the one my dad built with great affection. We furnished it with old baby furniture, and some of the old pots and pans Mum had around the house. If you can’t make a permanent cubby, maybe you can pitch a real tent inside or out, or use some old blankets or boxes? This can be a great way of providing some play space which is separate from the adult entertainment (or relaxation areas). My kids used to make cubbies that took up the whole lounge room – strategically placed chair with sheets and blankets over them, ad lots of cushions and pillow and toys inside. A bit of a mess, but lots of fun for a few days. Follow the link for some amazing at home fort ideas.
